1. Anti-gun Senator Ginny Burdick has filed an initiative that does the following:

   * Allows the State to retain a record on all firearms sales (including private sales)
at gun shows for a maximum of five years.

   * Expands background checks from only licenced dealers at gun show to anyone who
sells a firearm at a gun show

   * Places a Class A misdemeanor penalty on anyone convicted of violating the
     requirements of her law.

   * Places a Class A misdemeanor penalty on gun show promoter who fails to post
notice of requirements of her law.

Would you vote for this initiative? [ ] Yes [ ] No

2. Oregon Gun Owners has considered filing an initiative to Senator Burdick's
proposed initiative. Our initiative would have the following components:

   * Would extend the background check requirement to all sales at a gun show, but...

   * Forbids the State from keeping records of firearms sales on anyone who is
cleared during a background check. Requires immediate destruction of such
record and calls for penalties for failure to destroy.

   * Forbids the charging of a $10 fee to conduct a background check. Currently
the state charges $10 for the cost of running the check. OGO's initiative
would force the general fund of the State budget to pay for the operation
     of this check system.

   * Allows individuals wth a valid concealed handgun licence (CHL) to be exempt
     from a background check.

   * Increases penalties for committing a major crime while in possession of or
     using a firearm.

   * Grants immunity from civil lawsuits to gun owners who run a background check
     on a potential buyer.

Would you vote for this initiative? [ ] Yes [ ] No

3. If you answered no to questions 1 and 2, should Oregon Gun Owners aggressively
oppose Senator Burdick's initiative or remain neutral?

   [ ] Oppose [ ] Neutral
